NC gradually wiping out from State’s political scenario: Mehbooba
4/20/2009 10:34:44 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
BHADERWAH, April 20: with the mandate of the people her party has been emerging as secular alternative to the National Conference-Congress alliance in the State only PDP can fill the political vacuum created after formation of new opportunist coalition in the State said President of the Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti during a series
of public meetings at Bityas, Kilotra and other remotest areas of Bhaderwah, PDP president said that that there is political vacuum after formation of NC-Congress alliance and PDP would fill this vacuum to become voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Neither Congress nor BJP can represent aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir so PDP is the one and only party which is emerging as alternative to the National Conference”, she said and informed the people that NC has already wiped from the political scenario of the State and in the coming days NC would be a history.
“We will not allow people of the state to feel helpless after NC-Congress entered into alliance and our party would play role of effective opposition in the State”, she said and exhorted the PDP workers to aggressively take up the issues concerning the common masses at all platforms for addressing these problems.
“PDP is the voice of the people and party workers and leaders will fight for the cause of common masses”, she said and pointed out that it was all due to the pro-people policies of the party that PDP has already emerged as formidable secular alternative in the state within a short span of time.
"PDP would forcefully pursue its pro-people agenda to restore dignity of the people and to establish sustainable peace, stability and prosperity," Ms Mufti said and added that the people of the State have, in recent elections, substantively reposed their faith in the PDP’s policies.
She called upon the people to compare performance of his three year tenure with the decades long mis-governance of successive National Conference led regimes and pointed out that in a span of just three years, the PDP led regime has carved out a path of peace and equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking a dig at coalition partners for their failure to fulfill promises made with the people during assembly elections, she regretted that new government in the State has further compounded woes of the masses through its anti-people policies. She especially mentioned that during the last three months most parts of the State have been facing acute shortage of ration. “National Conference during election had promised to increase scale of ration for poor people”, she reminded but hastened to add, “what to say to increase ration scale, the new regime has even failed to supply ration as per already existing scales”.

”As far as the performance of this alliance is concerned, it appears only on papers and nothing concrete visible on ground”, she said, adding, “three month and half month is adequate period to assess functioning of a government”.

She called upon the people to cast vote in favor of PDP candidates for Bhaderwah assembly by-election and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat.
