IIM Jammu inaugurates eighth batch of nurturing future leadership program

JAMMU, Apr 21: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated the eighth batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on April 21, 2025, at its permanent campus in Nyaya Classroom, Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti. This initiative is organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, reflecting IIM Jammu's commitment to fostering leadership development and academic excellence.
The program, which runs from April 21 to 25, 2025, is designed to cultivate leadership capabilities among educators at various levels. It aims to equip faculty members, particularly early-career professionals, with essential leadership skills to drive academic leadership and institutional growth. The inaugural ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp lighting, followed by inspiring speeches from key figures, including Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning, self-development, and the integration of emerging technologies like AI into educational practices.
The event also featured addresses by Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C), and Dr. Mahesh Gadekar, Program Director. They provided an overview of the program's objectives, focusing on leadership development, real-life challenges, team building, and the promotion of collaborative learning environments. The program will include lectures, workshops, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises in leadership, communication, and skill development.
The program is fully funded by the Ministry of Education and includes 18 participants from institutions across India. Following the inaugural ceremony, participants were given a tour of IIM Jammu's state-of-the-art campus.
The Nurturing Future Leadership Program is aligned with the Malaviya Mission's vision to empower educators and shape India's educational landscape, reinforcing IIM Jammu's role as a center of leadership and innovation.
