Jammu police seizes illegal mining vehicles, recovers missing minor, enhances public engagement

JAMMU, Apr 21: Jammu Police South Zone continues its proactive and multidimensional approach to law enforcement with significant action across various fronts - from cracking down on illegal mining, recovering a missing minor after three years, to sustained community engagement under the leadership of SSP Jammu and supervision of SP South.
Operation Ploughing: Five Vehicles Seized for Illegal Mining
In a determined effort to curb illegal mining and safeguard the environment, South Zone Police carried out coordinated enforcement under "Operation Ploughing."
Police Post Belicharana seized the following heavy vehicles found transporting construction materials without valid documentation:
Dumper No. JK21F 5282 (crushed stone)
Dumper No. JK02CS 2469 (crushed stone)
Tipper No. JK02CR 2514 (sand)
Tipper No. JK02DM 0969 (sand)
Additionally, Police Post Chatha seized a tractor-trolley found operating without Form A. The District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu, was duly informed in all cases for legal proceedings.
Three-Year-Old Missing Minor Recovered from Punjab
In a remarkable achievement, a minor boy missing since 2022 was traced and recovered from Ludhiana, Punjab, by Jammu Police.
The boy, a resident of Poonch (presently living in Channi Rama), had gone missing on 06.03.2022, leading to registration of FIR No. 70/2022 U/S 363 IPC at Police Station Trikuta Nagar.
After relentless efforts, a team led by Incharge PP Narwal and SHO Trikuta Nagar, under SDPO East and SP South, successfully recovered the minor and reunited him with his family after completing legal formalities.
Community Policing: Public Interaction and Crime Deterrence
Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu conducted a PCPG meeting at New Bahu Fort involving local residents, youth, and business representatives. Public grievances were discussed; issues within police jurisdiction were resolved instantly, while others were directed to appropriate authorities.
In a parallel anti-drug drive under Operation Cleanup, three individuals were detained for suspected involvement in drug abuse and were booked under Sections 39/128 BNSS.
Other Noteworthy Actions in South Zone
PS Gandhi Nagar: 2 Motor Vehicle Act challans issued.
PS Satwari: Two Istighasa cases registered-one under Section 503 IPC and another under 39/128 BNSS.
PS Gangyal: 3 challans issued for MV Act violations.
PP Nehru Market: Theft case cracked; accused arrested and stolen items recovered.
PP Bathindi: 4 MV challans issued, 1 vehicle seized.
PP Narwal: Minor recovered, 3 MV challans issued.
PS Channi Himmat: 2 Istighasa cases filed against 3 persons.
