Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 21: In a swift and decisive action, Police Station R.S Pura successfully arrested an accused involved in a serious attempt to murder case within hours of the incident. The accused, identified as Deepak Kumar alias Ajay Kumar, son of Ganesh Lal, resident of Ward No. 12, Purana Pind, R.S Pura, was apprehended along with the weapon of offence - a sharp-edged toka. The case unfolded on 19 April 2025, when PSI Iahtsham Ul Haq of R.S Pura Police Station returned from Sub District Hospital (SDH) R.S Pura after recording the statement of the injured person, Sham Lal, son of Hans Raj, resident of the same locality. According to Sham Lal's statement, the incident took place around 7:30 PM, when the accused forcibly entered his Karyana shop located at Ward No. 12, Purana Pind, R.S Pura. Armed with a toka, the accused launched a sudden and violent attack, causing Sham Lal grievous injuries. Based on the victim's statement, FIR No. 73/2025 under Sections 333 and 109 of BNS, and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act was registered at Police Station R.S Pura. Acting promptly on the inputs, the R.S Pura Police team managed to track down and arrest the accused in a short span of time. The weapon used in the assault was also recovered during the operation. The swift response by Jammu Police has been widely appreciated by the local community, who lauded the law enforcement's efficiency and commitment to public safety. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are underway. |
