POONCH, Apr 22: A 15-day certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for input dealers commenced today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Poonch, under the supervision of the Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J).
The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Gupta, Chief Scientist & Head of KVK Poonch, who extended a warm welcome to all participants. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the critical role input dealers and retailers play in educating and motivating farmers towards balanced fertilizer application, positioning them as essential change agents in achieving sustainable agricultural practices.
Dr. Gupta also underlined the importance of plant nutrients and their contribution to agricultural productivity, particularly highlighting the historical significance of fertilizers in the Green Revolution. He noted that this certification program is designed to empower dealers to sell fertilizers legally and responsibly in accordance with the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) and related provisions.
