Kavinder strongly condemns Pahalgam terror attack on tourists
4/22/2025 9:41:09 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 22: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, Anantnag district. Terming the attack as a shameful and barbaric act, he said such incidents are a desperate attempt by Pakistan to disturb the hard-earned peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.
"While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making all-out efforts to transform J&K into a hub of development, tourism, and prosperity, our rogue neighbour Pakistan continues to push its evil agenda by aiding terrorism and creating an atmosphere of fear," he said in a statement issued here today.
Kavinder expressed serious concern over the targeting of civilians and tourists who are the ambassadors of peace and harmony. "These attacks are not just against individuals, but against the soul of Kashmir. They are designed to derail progress and sow seeds of terror, but they will not succeed," he said.
The senior BJP leader appealed to the people of Kashmir, particularly the youth, to rise above fear and unite against the nefarious designs of terror sponsors. "It is high time that Kashmir-based politicians shed their ambiguity and stand firm with the nation and the security forces. There should be no place for sympathy or silence when innocent lives are being attacked," he asserted.
The senior BJP leader praised the bravery and swift response of the security forces and urged the government to intensify the counter-terror operations to neutralize the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
Kavinder further stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir must collectively reject the agenda of terror and support the government's vision of a peaceful and prosperous Union Territory. "Terrorism has no place in the new Jammu and Kashmir, and those trying to revive it will be dealt with an iron hand," he added.
He also appealed to the Government to ensure that the injured tourists receive the best possible medical treatment without any delay. "It is the duty of the administration to extend every necessary support to the victims and their families in this hour of distress. The Union Territory cannot afford to send a message of helplessness-swift medical care and compassionate handling of the situation is essential," he emphasized.
