Mahanpur, Apr 22: The Department of Political Science at Government Degree College (GDC), Mahanpur successfully organized the Valedictory Programme of Poshan Pakhwada 2025, held from 8th April to 22nd April, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sudan.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy dietary practices among students and faculty members.
A highlight of the programme was an informative lecture by Sheetal Bhadwal, a Semester II student, who spoke on the topic “Poshan Pakhwada: Importance of a Balanced Diet.”
Her engaging presentation detailed the essential components of a nutritious diet and its impact on physical and mental well-being, resonating well with the audience.
Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, the Chief Guest of the event, delivered an insightful address emphasizing the significance of healthy eating habits, particularly for students. She encouraged all present to adopt balanced diets as a cornerstone for good health and academic performance.
Her motivational and educational message left a lasting impression on the participants. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Yog Raj Sharma, Head of the Department of Political Science, who also presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the event a success. He also emphasized the relevance of Poshan Pakhwada in contributing to the national mission of “Swasth Bharat, Poshan Bharat.”
The programme saw active participation from over 70 students and was attended by faculty members including Dr. Mohinder Nath Sharma, Dr. Nishu, Dr. Hilal Ahmed Bhat, Dr. Babli, Dr. Anju Bala, Dr. Suhail Ahmed Dar, Prof. Namita Trogia, and Prof. Sameeksha Sharma.
The Poshan Pakhwada Valedictory Programme served as an enriching platform to promote nutritional awareness and healthy living, reinforcing the college’s commitment to student wellness and national health initiatives.
