| Ensure adequate supply of essentials to people during Ramdhan: Taj to CAPD | | | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23 - The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department has always come up to the expectations of the people and delivered goods as real a Custodian, said Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Mr Taj Mohi-ud-Din while speaking at a function organised by the Employees Association of CAPD here today. Referring to the services provided by the employees during last year’s earthquake, the Minister urged the employees to work with same zeal and spirit and serve the people. He said that the present government is committed to honour honest officers. He however said that officers, officials failing to perform their duty honestly would not be spared. Mr Taj said that since he took over, emphasis has been laid to ensure availability of foodgrains in every nook and corner of the state. He said that adequate supply of foodgrains including atta and sugar would be provided to the consumers especially during the month of Ramdhan. He said Director CAPD has been asked to make elaborate arrangements for maintaining regular supply of foodgrains during the holy month. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for CAPD S. Manjit Singh stressed upon the employees to work with dedication and assured that government will consider their all-genuine demands. Earlier, President of CAPD Employees Association Mr. Khursheed Alam welcomed the Minister and putforth various demands which the Minister assured to be looked into. Among others Secretary CAPD, Mr Khalid Habib, Director CAPD, Mr Abdul Majid Mir, Additional Secretary and other senior officers were present on the occasion. |
