Central team visits PIB Jammu; reviews activities for promotion of official language

JAMMU, Apr 23: As part of the efforts to promote Hindi a team of PIB Rajbhasha Unit visited Press Information Bureau Jammu to review the activities for the promotion of Hindi in government communications, focusing on how effectively it has been integrated into the daily operations.
During the two-day visit, the team of officers conducted an inspection of the work already done in terms of Hindi language implementation. The visit aimed to take stock of the current efforts and achievements in promoting the use of Hindi in official communication.
A workshop aimed at promoting Raj Basha in various sectors of public administration and communication was also concluded that focused on the importance of Hindi in promoting national integration enhancing effective communication.
The workshop provided valuable insights into the best practices for incorporating Hindi in media releases, official documentation and other communication materials. The aim of the session was to enhance the proficiency of the staff and encourage more widespread adoption of the language in government communications and also sensitising staff about the new rules and regulations of the official languages act.
Director, Press Information Bureau Jammu, Neha Jalali in her address emphasized the essential role of Raj Basha in strengthening the interface between the government and citizens. She said that PIB, both at the national and regional level, plays an essential role in the effective use of Raj Bhasha to ensure that government communication reaches every citizen in the desired language.
In his address, Assistant Director, Rajbhasha Unit, PIB New Delhi Sh. Pradeep Kumar familiarized the participants with various provisions of the Official Languages Act 1963, 1976, filling of Questionnaire of Committee of Parliament on Official Language. He urged the participants to issue general administrative orders, circulars, other reports and leave applications in Hindi on a regular basis.
During the workshop, Rajeev Kumar, Junior Translation Officer introduced the new tools and techniques in language typing to the participants and also briefed about relevant software programs designed for efficient communication in Hindi.
The program was also attended by Media and Communication Officers; Zakir Nazeer, Muzafar Wani and other staff members of the PIB, Jammu.
