| Symposia organized at JKPS, Lakhan High School | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23 - To encourage youth to express their inner feeling, the Department of Information and Public Relations has been organizing series of seminars, debates, symposium and cultural programme in different educational institutions throughout the state. As a part of this, the Department of Information and Public Relations Jammu organized a symposium at JK Public School, Panjtirthi here this morning. The topic selected for symposium was 'Importance of education in our life'. The participants highlighted the importance of education for socio-economic development of a society. They said education helps in moulding misbehaviour of an individual and enable him to contribute in the development of a progress nation. The students asserted that every children from any area of the state should be provided education as this is his right which he must get. They also spoke on the policies and programmes of government Miss Urvashi Raina of 4th standard was adjudged the best, Miss Pallavi Wahi secured second position while third prize was bagged by Utsav Sharma. Consolation prize was presented to Miss Vanshika Bhadwal. The prizes were arranged by the Department of Information. A scintillating cultural programme was also presented by the cultural wing of the Information Department that was highly appreciated. Similarly, the Department organized another symposium on 'Achievements of present coalition government' at Lakhan High School, Jullaka Mohalla. Highlighting the development works done by the government in such a short span, the students expressed their views on the progress registered in varied sectors. They said that people are satisfied as their long pending demands are being fulfilled and are hopeful that their other grievances would also be redressed. The students touched almost every sector while highlighting the achievements registered so far. Rahul Tak bagged Ist prize while second and third prizes were given to Ranjan Sahil and Anchal Tak respectively. Consolation prizes were presented to other participants. Principal of the schools also spoke on the occasion and apprised about the works done by the present regime. |
