| CGPWA organizes workshop on climate change at Nagbani School | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 20: The central government pensioners’ welfare association of J&K wing organized a workshop-cum-debate on the theme of ‘Climate Change and Global Warming’ at Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiae School Nagbani under National Environment Awareness Campaign, a World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)Project, sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forest. S.S. Wazir president CGPWA S.S. Wazir was the Chief Guest and V.P. Sharma was guest of honour. Yogesh Khosla, Principal MHSAC School presided over the function. Key Note address, aided by power point presentation, was delivered by V.P Sharma and Dr. M. R. Kalsotra, as the resource persons for the workshop-cum debate. Half a dozen students of the School participated in the debate on the theme with nearly 150 pupils as the audience, besides a good number of association members, special invitees and the school faculty. The Chief Guest exhorted the young boys and girls to disseminate awareness on environment related issues in the society, since these issues are very vital for our safe future. Climate change too is an aftermath of environmental degradation. The Chief Guest on the occasion gave away the prizes to the student participants in the debate, comprising cash prizes of Rs. 1000/-, 800/-, 600/- for the debaters judged as first, second and third by a panel of judges. Two consolation prizes of Rs 200/- each were also given. Besides all the contestants were awarded a Certificate of Participation and Merit.
