NSS & NCC Units of SPMR College of Commerce Organise Health Camp

JAMMU, Apr 26: The NSS and NCC Units of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a Health Camp on the college campus. The event took place on the fourth day of the ongoing NSS special camp and was held in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH, Jammu.
A dedicated medical team from the Department of AYUSH participated in the camp, including Dr. Himani Bhutyal (Medical Officer and Master Yoga Trainer, Jammu District), Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Dr. Sandeep Bhagat, Kamal Netra, and Akhilesh. The team provided free health check-ups and distributed free medicines to students, contributing to the well-being of the college community.
During the event, Dr. Himani Bhutyal and Dr. Jatinder Kumar delivered insightful and motivational talks, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular yoga practices, and the holistic benefits of Ayurveda.
Adding a cultural touch to the camp, an NSS Song Singing Competition was also held. Volunteers enthusiastically showcased their singing talents. The competition was judged by Prof. Sunal Sharma and Dr. Rekha. Pranav Verma secured the first position, followed by Amit in second place and Aryan in third.
Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college, interacted with the students and appreciated the initiative and efforts of the organizers for promoting health awareness and student engagement through such meaningful activities.
The entire program was meticulously conducted and coordinated by NSS Program Officers Dr. Deepshikha Sharma and Dr. Deepak Pathania, along with NCC ANO Dr. Madhu Bala. Faculty members present at the event included Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Mohd Azam, Dr. Chetna Gupta, Prof. Shaji Khan, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Roomi Rani, Dr. Lata, and others.
