15 days training for Krishi Udhamies commences at KVK Kishtwar

JAMMU, Apr 28: Krishi Kendra Kishtwar, SKUAST Jammu today started 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management for the krishi udhamies of district Kishtwar. 35 Krishi Udhamies from different Blocks of District Kishtwar enrolled for the certificate course joined the training programme. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu and was organized by Dr Narinder Paul Incharge KVK Kishtwar under the supervision of Dr Amrish Vaid Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. Amjad Hussain Malik, CAO Kishtwar, Khalid Bashir Zargar, DAO (Extension) and Jamshed Dev District SMS were also present during the inaugural function of the programme.
The Programme started with welcome address by Dr Narinder Paul who also briefed the participants about the content and framework of 15 days programme and importance of the course for the aspiring fertilizer dealers. During the technical session, Dr Narinder Paul briefed the participants about essential plant nutrients, their role and deficiency symptoms and proper nutrient management to increase production and productivity of crops.
Amjad Hussain Malik threw light on the handling, stocking and transportation of fertilizers. Jamshed Dev SMS DL deliberated upon the current scenario of fertilizer use in district Kishtwar. He laid emphasis on use of balanced nutrient management by using recommended doses of fertilizers for different crops. Komal Sharma briefed the participants about the nutrient content of different manures and fertilizers. Ajaz Hussain, Ajay Singh, Nazma Banoo, Sonali Parihar, Asis Ali Wasit Rehman, Raghuveer Singh and other attended the programme.
