Public demands, development goals shape Bandipora district Capex Plan

BANDIPORA, Apr 28: In order to discuss the formulation of the District Capex Budget Plan for the financial year 2025-26, a meeting was today jointly chaired by Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Ab Gani Bhat, and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri held at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC, Kousar Shafeeq; DDC Members, Chief Planning Officer (CPO), District Officers of various departments, and other concerned. During the meeting, various proposals and public demands were put forward by the Chairman, Vice Chairperson, and DDC Members for incorporation into the District CAPEX plan including sector-specific developmental needs aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public welfare.
The meeting also discussed the physical and financial progress achieved under the District Capex Budget for the financial year 2024-25. Chief Planning Officer presented the status of works completed, ongoing projects, and fund utilization.
Addressing the participants, DDC Chairman highlighted the importance of grassroots participation in the development process. He emphasized to ensure that elected representatives are actively involved at every stage of planning and implementation to ensure transparency and impact-driven development.
Deputy Commissioner took stock of achievements and shortfalls, and stressed the importance of removing bottlenecks to ensure better implementation of District Capex Plan 2025-26.
Qadri emphasized the need to focus on asset creation, public service delivery, and employment generation in the Capex plan. He stressed prioritizing the completion of spill-over and ongoing projects to ensure effective utilization of resources.
DC also directed all departments to ensure timely completion of works and take strict action, including imposing penalties, against contractors who cause unnecessary delays or hamper project execution.
