Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 28: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Jammu, in collaboration with the Bari Brahmana Industrial Association (BBIA), successfully organized the 'Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0' awareness and outreach program at the BBIA Complex, Sidco Industrial Area, Bari Brahmana, Samba. The program was presided over by Enforcement Officers Shri Devinder Singh and Shri Harshit Pathak, and aimed at educating employers, employees, and other stakeholders about various EPFO schemes, grievance redressal mechanisms, and recent initiatives.
The central theme of the session revolved around the Centralised Pension Payment System (CPPS), types of pensions under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), pension eligibility, and the pension claim filing process. Participants were sensitized about grievance filing procedures through EPFiGMS, CPGRAMS, and other digital platforms. Emphasis was also laid on fraud prevention and ensuring employees' rights under EPFO regulations.
Key topics covered included the Provident Fund (PF), Pension, and Insurance schemes, with special attention given to ensuring that employees receive social security benefits from their very first day of employment. The program also addressed the importance of ECR (Electronic Challan cum Return) submission by employers and informed them about potential reasons for claim rejections.
In their address, the Enforcement Officers reviewed the EPF compliance status of various construction companies, firms, contractors, and subcontractors. They directed private schools and industries to ensure 100% enrollment of their employees and the timely deposit of EPF contributions. Companies were also encouraged to obtain EPF codes from Jammu to facilitate the registration of local employees.
Prominent figures like Lalit Mahajan, President of BBIA, and Viraj Malhotra, General Secretary of BBIA, were present at the event. Major companies such as Jai Beverages, Sai Santosh, Amann Industries, Fil Industries, Saraswati Agro Chemicals, GSP Power Projects, and Jammu Minerals participated actively. Employers were instructed to ensure that all workers employed through firms, agencies, and contractors are duly registered under EPFO schemes.
Special hands-on sessions were conducted on UAN activation, Aadhaar and bank seeding, e-nomination, online claim filing, and employer compliance requirements. District Nodal Officers also addressed the queries of employees, employers, and company representatives during the session.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation across sectors, reinforcing the commitment to strengthening EPFO's reach and implementation across Jammu's industrial landscape.
