Preet Nagar Cricket Club Wins Sher-e-Kashmir Tournament Final

JAMMU, Apr 29: The week-long Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Tournament, held under the powerful theme "Say No to Drugs," concluded yesterday night with Preet Nagar Cricket Club emerging victorious in a thrilling final against Trikuta Cricket Club at the iconic M.A. Stadium in Jammu. The event was graced by Minister for Sports, Satish Sharma, who attended as the Chief Guest and formally declared the final match open. Prior to the commencement of the game, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of those who have lost their lives of the 22nd April, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam. The grand finale drew an enthusiastic crowd and was attended by Guest of honors, including Sajjad Shaheen (MLA Banihal), Er. Khurshid (MLA), Satwant Kour Dogra, Provincial President of the Women's Wing of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone.
It is noteworthy that the tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and former Chief Minister of J&K. With a mission to promote positive youth engagement and raise awareness against substance abuse, the tournament served as a strong social message delivered through the passion of sports.
Preet Nagar Cricket Club showcased exemplary performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, ultimately lifting the championship trophy amid loud cheers and celebration.
Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, Provincial President of the J&K Youth National Conference and Chief Organizer of the Tournament, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participating teams, supporters, and local administration. "This tournament has proven that sports can be a powerful tool to unite, educate, and empower. Congratulations to Preet Nagar Cricket Club on their well-deserved win," he said.
The guest of honors including Sajjad Shaheen (MLA Banihal), Er. Khurshid (MLA), Satwant Kour Dogra, Provincial President of the Women's Wing of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, distributes Trophy Winning Team Preet Nagar Cricket Club, Runner up Team Trikuta Cricket Club, Man of the Match, Man of the series, Best batsman, Best bollower, Umpires, Scores, Ground manager, whole YNC organizer team and special guests.
The organizers also extended special thanks to the community for their overwhelming support and reiterated their commitment to hosting more such events aimed at youth upliftment and social awareness.
