JAMMU, Apr 29: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) successfully organized a high-profile seminar today at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu, focusing on the New Income Tax Bill, 2025. The seminar served as a platform for professionals to gain strategic insights and a comprehensive understanding of the proposed legislation and its potential implications.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by CA Sourav Pargal, Chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI, who emphasized the importance of staying updated with the dynamic changes in tax laws. He highlighted the relevance of such seminars in fostering informed professional practice among Chartered Accountants.
The seminar featured three technical sessions led by distinguished experts in the field of taxation:
CA Aseem Chawla, a leading international taxation expert and Founder of ASC Legal, initiated the seminar with a detailed session on "New Income Tax Bill, 2025 - Repeal and Savings". He shared his in-depth knowledge, drawing from certifications from Harvard Kennedy School and WU Vienna University.
CA Raj Chawla, Past Central Council Member of ICAI and an influential figure in the MSME sector, delivered the second session on "Impact of Budget 2025 on Section 43Bh". He brought forth practical insights from his extensive experience in taxation and MSME policy-making.
Dr. CA Girish Ahuja, a veteran educator in direct taxation and a prolific author, concluded the seminar with his session on "Income Tax Bill, 2025 - A Comprehensive View". Dr. Ahuja, a Fellow of ICAI and a Ph.D. from Delhi University, shared valuable perspectives on the upcoming legislative changes and their broader impact.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from Chartered Accountants and senior professionals across the region. Attendees actively engaged in interactive discussions and Q&A sessions, reflecting the high level of interest and relevance of the subject matter.
CA Jatin Malhotra, Secretary of the J&K Branch, effectively coordinated the event, ensuring smooth conduct and active engagement throughout the day. The seminar concluded with a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the speakers and participants.
