Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 1: In a heartfelt ceremony, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, today handed over an appointment letter on compassionate grounds to Syed Nazakat Shah, the brother of martyr Syed Adil Hussain, who lost his life in the Pahalgam terror attack. Hussain had laid down his life while bravely saving tourists from the attackers. The Waqf Board, recognizing Syed Adil Hussain's immense bravery, also presented a posthumous Bravery Award to the martyr. Dr. Andrabi, along with BJP J&K President Sat Sharma, General Secretary Ashok Koul, MLA Shri Vibodh Gupta, Dr. Maniyal, and Sofi Yousuf, attended the emotional event. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Andrabi emphasized the Waqf Board's commitment to honor the sacrifices made by martyrs like Syed Adil Hussain. "Our fight against terrorism requires real action. Mere lip service doesn't work. As a people's board, we decided to honor this brave martyr by offering a job to his family, providing them with much-needed financial support during this difficult time," she said. BJP President Sat Sharma, General Secretary Ashok Koul, and other leaders praised the Waqf Board's initiative, calling it an exemplary gesture of support for the families of martyrs. An emotional Syed Nazakat, the brother of the martyr, thanked the Waqf Board and Dr. Andrabi for their timely support and for standing with his family during their time of grief. He expressed gratitude for the job offer and the bravery award, which he said would help his family cope with the loss. The ceremony reflected the region's collective effort to honor the sacrifices made by individuals who give their lives for the safety and well-being of others. |
