Early Times Report REASI, May 2: In its ongoing efforts to extend healthcare services to the remote and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army recently organized a Comprehensive AYUSH and Veterinary Camp at Balmatkote, Reasi. The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare to the local population, with a special focus on remote villages that have limited access to medical facilities. The camp saw active participation from dedicated teams of Indian Army doctors, AYUSH specialists (Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy), and veterinary experts. A wide array of services was offered to the villagers, including general health check-ups, free distribution of medicines, veterinary treatment, livestock vaccination, and AYUSH consultations. Additionally, the camp included awareness sessions on health and hygiene to promote overall wellness. More than 425 local residents, including Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities, and 235 livestock benefited from this day-long camp. The initiative was well-received by the local populace, who expressed their deep gratitude to the Indian Army for its continued support and humanitarian outreach in the region.
