GDC RS Pura students present inspiring Yoga display

RS PURA, May 2: In a vibrant celebration of physical fitness, mental well-being, and India's rich cultural heritage, the students of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura came together for a captivating Yoga Asana Demonstration under the Fit India Movement initiative. The event, organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, drew enthusiastic participation and widespread appreciation.
The campus echoed with serenity and energy as students performed a wide range of yoga asanas-from foundational postures like Tadasana and Vrikshasana to more advanced poses such as Chakrasana and Mayurasana. The demonstration was set to calming background music, with each pose accompanied by an informative narration highlighting its physical and mental health benefits.
In her inaugural address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour lauded the students' commitment and emphasized the transformative impact of yoga. "Yoga helps our youth manage stress and lead balanced lives. It's encouraging to see such dedication to personal wellness," she remarked.
Dynamic Demonstrations by Talented Students
The highlight of the event was a coordinated student-led yoga sequence, with more than [number] students participating. The sequence included:
Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation)
Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
Padmasana (Lotus Pose)
Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand)
Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
Shavasana (Corpse Pose) for relaxation and mindfulness
Each asana was performed with precision and grace, reflecting the students' dedication to the discipline. The narration detailed benefits such as improved concentration, enhanced flexibility, and reduced anxiety.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Roopali Slathia, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. Present at the occasion were Prof. Anupama Andotra (Convenor), Dr. Rakesh Choudhary, Prof. Neelam, Prof. Rakesh Kalotra, Prof. Hari, and Dr. Roopali Slathia.
