| Channi Himmat deputation calls on MD Housing Board | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 21- A deputation of Channi Himmat Residents Association led by its president Advocate V. K. Grover met the Managing Director J&K Housing Board I.A.Hamal and apprised him of various issues confronting the residents of the colony. It was impressed upon the MD to stop the process of renewal of lease deeds in favour of those allottees who have failed to construct residential house during the last more than twenty five years. The deputation regretted that the money secured by the Housing Board from BSNL and AIRTEL for repair of lanes dug for laying underground cables have been diverted and not used for repair of the dug lanes resulting into dilapidation of roads. The managing director sought detailed report from the DGM over the issue. The issue of encroachment of public utility verandahs by the shopkeepers in the Tawi commercial complex Channi Himmat was raised upon which the MD assured to take concrete action and remove the encroachments. The Managing Director issued directions for taking prompt and appropriate steps for vacation of the only Park in Sector No.5 from the CRPF which had some time back given undertaking to vacate the same on short notice on demand of the residents and the Housing Board. The managing director promised to personally visit the colony on Thursday to see himself the vulnerable spots which have been neglected and where urgent attention for repairs was required. The deputation included R.K.Gupta, Lalit Gupta, Bashir A.Dar, P .S.Mastana, Naveen Gupta, B.M.Gandotra, Prem Aggarwal, Chaman Lal, T.R.Gandotra, S.K.Khajuria, Prof. Naresh Gupta, Chander Shekhar, Brigadier K.S.Kotwal and P.K.Khorana.
