Early Times Report POONCH, May 4: In a significant outreach initiative, the Indian Army organised an Amity Meeting with members of the civil society in Haribudha village, located near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district. The meeting aimed to strengthen bonds between the local population and security forces, while addressing community concerns and promoting a collaborative approach to regional development. The gathering witnessed the participation of local residents, including representatives of the civil administration, Sarpanch, Nambardar, and village elders from Haribudha and surrounding areas. Residents candidly shared the daily challenges they face in the border region. In response, the Indian Army assured them that efforts would be made to address these issues on a priority basis. Special focus was given to the youth, who were guided on the eligibility criteria and procedures for joining the Indian Army. The interaction aimed to inspire them to contribute actively to the progress and unity of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Locals appreciated the Indian Army's consistent support and presence during times of need, expressing deep trust and gratitude. They also requested that such meetings be held regularly to maintain the spirit of "Awam and Army" unity.
