| Private security guards in SMGS Hospital on indefinite strike | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 21- Private security guards on duty inside SMGS hospital on Tuesday went on indefinite strike following tussle with policemen posted inside police control room in the hospital premises. The security guards also demanded permanent shifting of the police post from inside the hospital premises in the absence of which they would not resume their duties. The security guards of prominent security agency alleged that local policemen frequently harass them and do not give them free hand to discharge their duties. Pointing fingers over the improper conduct of the police officers stationed inside the police post in SMGS hospital few private security guards who were allegedly beaten up by the police said that the regular policemen caught them from their collars and harassed them. One of the private security guards who was beaten by policemen said, “While he was discharging his duty at a hospital gate a police constable pushed him towards the wall and tried his level best to snatch my stars. We will not resume our duties till a concrete assurance was given to us that in future no such incident would take place and stern action would be taken against the guilty.
