Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 21- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and its candidate for Udhampur-Doda-Kathua parliamentary constituency, Dr. Nirmal Singh has appealed the people to vote for the party to carry forward its unaccomplished developmental and economic agenda during the BJP led NDA government.
Addressing a series of meetings at Jathana, Dugain, Machedi, Badnota, Bani, Kund, Sangalghat and Kathua, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that NDA government led by BJP gave a new direction to the country and brought peace and development in the region. He said a cease fire was put in place giving relief to lakhs of farmers in the border areas. He said that the security grid was strengthened and the militants were neutralized and the mechanism of VDCs/SPOs was put in place which gave tough time to militants and forced them to retreat.
He said that Congress has ruled the country by ‘divide and rule’ policy and giving populist slogans which have ultimately led to further subjugation of the poor and oppressed classes while the rich have become more rich.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that congress which claims to be a nationalist and secular political party should justify its alliance first with Peoples Democratic Party and now with National Conference in the state then first with communists at the Centre and now Samajwadi Party. He said that Congress is a group of opportunist and power seeking individuals who have been tamed by a family and they can stoop to any level to grab power.
He said that NDA government restored the faith of people in the democratic process in the state which became a casualty under the Congress regime. He said that Congress is the enemy of the nationalist people in the state and people should teach them a lesson by defeating their candidate and voting in favour of BJP. The rigging by NC-Congress combine proved to be a disaster for the state as well as the country while these two have again joined hands in the state and only God knows where they will lead the state now.
Dr. Singh further said that it was the Congress which sanctioned relief to the kith and kin of the militants and hefty packages to the militants while the nationalist people were ignored. He said that during Prime Ministers’ Working Group meetings, he had raised the voice for special employment package for the hilly and backward areas, recruitment at Block level, the Cong-PDP government ensured that none of these recommendations were implemented.
He said that Congress government refused to implement a Rs 400 crore power project in Kathua district while the central government has already sanctioned it as it would have benefited the people of Jammu. He asked the people to vote for BJP for a bright future and development in the state as well as country.
