Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 21- School of Visual and Performing Arts, Design and Architecture (SVAPADA) staged a play, “Devi”, at Zorawar Singh Auditorium at Jammu University, here this evening. The First Lady, Usha Vohra, was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady said that it was a remarkably well done play. She appreciated the performance of the artists and wished them to rise to the new heights of their talent. She lauded SVAPADA for staging the first play and hoped that it would organize more such performances in future. She was presented a memento by the Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof. Varun Sahni. The First Lady honoured the Director of the play,. Kavi Rattan, who has adapted the story of the play in Dogri, by presenting to him a shawl. She also presented mementos to all the artists of the play. Earlier, Director, SVAPADA, Prof. Nirmal Gupta in her welcome address, dwelt on the theme of the play. The Principal Secretary to Governor, B. B. Vyas, senior authorities of the Jammu University, prominent citizens, art lovers and a large number of people witnessed the play.
