Early Times Report
SUCHETGARH, May 9: In response to the rising tensions along the International Border, senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, visited the vulnerable border villages of Sae Devigarh, Megowal, Sae Sadari, Sae Khurd, and Sae Tandali to personally oversee the situation and ensure the safety of residents.
Recognizing the gravity of the circumstances, Tony actively facilitated the evacuation of residents from these frontline villages to safer camps, emphasizing the need for swift action to safeguard lives. Interacting with the affected villagers, he cautioned them to stay alert and avoid unnecessary movement near the border areas, while assuring them of every possible assistance.
Tony urged the people to have full faith in the Indian armed forces, who, he said, are giving a befitting reply to the provocations by Pakistan. "Our brave jawans are standing strong to protect the nation and its people. We must trust their capability and commitment," he stated.
The senior Congress leader also commended the timely response of the local police and civil administration in managing the situation and aiding the evacuation efforts. He specifically appreciated their role in maintaining law and order and providing logistical support during the crisis.
Further, Tony appealed to social and religious organizations to come forward and organize Langars (community kitchens) at the relief camp sites, ensuring no one suffers due to lack of food or basic needs.
He made a strong appeal to the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Administration to ensure adequate civil amenities at the camps, including the installation of mobile toilets and washrooms, provision of drinking water, and stocking of essential medicines to prevent any health crisis.
Taranjit Singh Tony reiterated his commitment to stand by the people of Suchetgarh in these testing times and assured that every effort will be made to ensure their dignity and safety.
