Ceasefire a positive step, but Pakistan must learn its lesson: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 10: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, has welcomed the ceasefire decision at the Indo-Pak border, calling it a significant and positive move towards de-escalation. He said that while India has always stood for peace, it will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens. "This is a welcome step and a moment to reflect. India has never desired war, but Pakistan's continuous provocation through terrorism and proxy attacks has left no room for complacency," Gupta said, referring to the recent brutal attack in Pahalgam where 26 innocent tourists were targeted by the Pakistan sponsored terrorists. Kavinder underlined that India's response to these provocations has been swift, strong, and decisive, sending a clear message to Pakistan and the global community. "A befitting reply was given to Pakistan's aggression, forcing them to seek intervention from the United States. This itself speaks volumes about the pressure they are under," he remarked. The senior BJP leader emphasized that India's strength should never be underestimated. "Pakistan must understand that any misadventure will be met with an iron fist. We are a peaceful nation, but not a weak one. Our patience should never be mistaken for fear," he warned. Kavinder Gupta also urged Pakistan to draw lessons from recent developments and abandon its decades-old policy of exporting terror. "Peace cannot be one-sided. If Pakistan is serious about peace, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure and stop using its soil for attacks against India." Reiterating his support for the ceasefire, Kavinder said, "We welcome this step, but we remain vigilant. India stands united and resolute in defending its borders and its people." |
