KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 23 District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ms. Sarita Chauhan convened a meeting to review the pace of development works of various departments here here today. Additional District development Commissioner, Kathua, Dr. Mandeep.K. Bhandari, Chief Planning Officer, Kathua, Dr Harjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kathua, Mr. Shyam Bijyal, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD,Irrigation, Flood Control, REW,Town drainage and urban development, Chief Medical Officer, DFOs Kathua and Billawar and some other District Officers attended the meeting. The sectors reviewed include Education, Health, PHE, R&B, Power, Rural Development, Forest, Social Forestry Irrigation, Town Drainage and Urban Development. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Chauhan enjoined upon the sectoral Officers to gear up the pace of works so as to achieve physical target of 80% by ending November 2006 and priorities the works to be taken up on fast track with the available allocations. She also expressed displeasure over the low physical achievements by few engineering departments and asked them to identify and complete such works for which full amount has been released. She further directed the executing agencies to complete developmental activities in remote and hilly areas before onset of snow season. Proper coordination is essential between various departments to clear the procedural hurdles for execution of major works like clearance from Forest department to be obtained by R&B department for executing the works, she added. ADDC, Kathua, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari while addressing the officers urged them to not to compromise with the quality of works in achieving the targets and said that he will personally monitor the physical progress which must commensurate with financial achievements. |
