Div Com reviews ongoing works in KV-I Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, APRIL 22 - Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal reviewed the pace of ongoing renovation works in Kendriya Vidayala No. 1, Gandhi Nagar Jammu in a meeting of Engineers of Central Public Works Department (CPPWD) and management of the Vidayala here today.
The Divisional Commissioner was informed that a Rs. 3.02 crore project is under execution for renovation and electrification of various existing buildings of the Vidayala. The engineers of CPWD informed in the meeting that civil works in Physic and Biology laboratories would be completed before 10th of May this year, Whileas electric works are being taken up in the Vidayala premises very soon and would be completed by next month. For shifting of the electric poles within the premises a project has been formulated and is being submitted to State Power Development Department for its execution, they further said. They also said that other minor works are almost complete and the entire renovation project of the Vidayala would be completed very shortly.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned executing agencies to speed up the ongoing works in the Vidalaya and ensure their completion during the summer vacations starting next month. He also suggested the management of the Vidalaya to formulate the civil works projects in such a way that these are executed during the vacations so that the studies of the students are not affected. He asked for better -coordination between the executing agencies and the Vidalaya management so that the work does not hamper practical education of the students for want of laboratory facilities as the different labs in the Vidalaya were under renovation.
Principal Kendriya Vidayala No. 1, Gandhi Nagar Jammu Dr. Chitra Mishra, Executive Engineer, CPWD, Mr. P.K.Srivatav and other officers of concerned agencies attended the meeting.
