Early Times Report MAJALTA, May 15: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Majalta organized an enlightening and impactful lecture on the theme "The Role of Youth in National Crisis", aimed at inspiring students to recognize and embrace their pivotal role in times of national challenges. The guest speaker for the event, Dr. Chander Mohan, Associate Professor of English, delivered a powerful and thought-provoking lecture. Drawing upon his extensive experience as an NCC Cadet and Associate NCC Officer (ANO), Dr. Mohan emphasized the proactive role youth can play in disaster response, social cohesion, and nation-building. Citing real-life instances from national initiatives and community engagements, he encouraged students to cultivate resilience, leadership, and civic responsibility. Principal Dr. Shalini Sharma, who presided over the event, lauded the relevance of the topic in today's socio-political climate. She highlighted the importance of nurturing a generation that is not only academically proficient but also socially aware and ready to contribute to national welfare in times of crisis. The lecture was followed by an interactive session, where students actively participated, raising thoughtful questions and sharing their views on youth empowerment and national duty. The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Naresh Kumar, Head of the Department of Dogri.
