| Ensure regular water, electricity supply or face people’s wrath: Khajuria | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 22- The State BJP chief Ashok Khajuria has asked the government to take immediate steps to ensure regular supply of electricity and drinking water or face the wrath of the people. He said with the rise in mercury level, the people of Jammu are once again made to face shortage of drinking water and inadequate power supply. This is not happening for the first time, he added. Reacting to the tall claims of the government of providing all basic facilities to the people, he said the people especially in the city were clamoring for adequate drinking water and regular power supply when the mercy has touched over 37 degree Celsius. In summers, there is also need of regular supply of drinking water but it is supplied after 2-3 days and that too for half an hour, he alleged. Ashok Khajuria questioned the state government and the concerned department as to why power cuts are being imposed when the Dul Hasti Hydro-Electric Project is functioning and producing electricity round the clock? He reminded the state government of the assurance of the Prime Minister, who inaugurated this project some months back, that with the commissioning of this project, the people will get regular power supply. He said in Jammu’s old city areas, where the process of installation of electronic meters has almost been completed, people still are not getting regular supply despite the fact that the concerned department has repeatedly assured of ‘no power cuts’ once the electronic meters are installed. He also asked the state government to explain as to why the Shitli Filtration Plant has not been commissioned even after expiry of over one year. Why, there is inordinate delay in its commissioning Khajuria questions? Page 5 Sukhnandan demands 6 months free rations to affected farmers Jammu, Apr 22- BJP Kissan Morcha State President Ch.
