SIM vendors under scanner: Jammu police conducts surprise inspection drive in south zone

JAMMU, May 16: In a special drive launched by SP South on the directions of SSP Jaamu, South Zone police carried out a focused inspection of all the SIM card vendor shops across South Zone to ensure compliance with telecom regulations and prevent misuse of mobile connections. The inspections were conducted by SHOs and ICPPs .
During the drive, all targeted shops were physically visited and their records, including past issuance data, were thoroughly scrutinized. Shopkeepers were firmly instructed to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of all customers to whom SIM cards are issued, in accordance with existing regulations.
Details of Shops Inspected:
Mobile Ware, located near Varmani.
Owner: Tarun Datta, S/o Late Shri Keshav Nand Datta, R/o Sector 1, House No. 206, Nanak Nagar.
Jai Enterprises, located at Sector 4, Main Road, Nanak Nagar.
Owner: Jaibindar Singh, S/o Joginder Singh, R/o Trikuta Nagar, Sector 3.
Badwal Complications, situated at Shiva Ji Chowk, Sector 4, near RK Playway School.
Owner: Som Raj, S/o Gayan Chand, R/o Billawar Lakhri, District Kathua.
Mobile Shop located opposite Varmani Shopping Mall.
Owner: Amar Pal Singh, S/o Late Shri Harnam Singh, R/o Bahu Fort, Jammu.
Airtel Shop, located at E-37, Sainik Colony, Jammu.
Owner: Saroj Kumar, S/o Ram Chander Singh, R/o Oranga Abad, Bihar.
Public STD/PCO, Wani Communication, RK Communications, and Topper Choice, all located within the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat, were visited.
