Shrine Board’s Skill, Simulation Lab launches trainings | | | Early Times Report
Katra, May 17: The Skill and Simulation Lab of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) - Medical College of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, inaugurated by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB in the first week of April-2025 as per the directions of Hon’ble Chairman, SMVDSB (Lt. Governor, JK-UT) have launched its training programs, underscoring the institution’s commitment to delivering industry-relevant skills and education. The training sessions conducted from 10AM to 4PM, focused on Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid. Participants included nursing, medical and paramedical staff from Community Health Centre (CHC), Katra as well as employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. These sessions aimed to equip participants with life-saving skills and knowledge, enhancing their ability to respond to medical emergencies. The comprehensive training covered critical areas, ensuring participants were well-prepared to handle various situations effectively. These training sessions are being led by American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructors, complemented by experienced educators. This unique blend of expertise ensures that participants receive high-quality training, adhering to international standards. The AHA-certified instructors bring industry-recognized expertise, while the educators provide pedagogical support, creating a comprehensive learning experience. This collaboration enables trainees to develop critical skills, stay updated with the latest practices and excel in their chosen fields. The lab’s state-of-the-art facilities provide hands-on training, bridging the academia-industry gap and preparing trainees for the modern workforce. With expert faculty guiding practical sessions, the lab aims to enhance employability, foster entrepreneurship and nurture innovation, aligning with the institution’s mission to empower students / trainees for future challenges. Participants who successfully completed the training program were awarded BLS Course Completion certificates and Identification cards, certifying them as “Certified BLS Providers.” Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director, SMVDIME, Kakryal; faculty members Dr. Vanilla Chopra, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. Suhail Murtaza Nazki, Head of Emergency Medicine and educators Ms. Sonam Minhas and Ms. Harpreet Kaur from SMVDNSH. |
