Rajouri, May 17: In a significant anti-drug operation, Nowshera Police arrested a drug peddler near Lamberi Nakka and recovered approximately 7 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.
The police party stationed at Lamberi was conducting a naka duty when they spotted a suspicious individual traveling on foot from Siot towards Lamberi. Upon noticing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. He identified himself as Inderjeet alias Kala, son of Mohinder Paul, resident of Ward No. 4, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri.
During a thorough search, the officers recovered 7 grams of heroin-like narcotic material. The accused has been booked under FIR No. 60/2025 registered at Police Station Nowshera under sections 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Further investigation is ongoing to identify and dismantle any wider drug trafficking network associated with the accused. |
