Samba, May 18: In a continued effort to curb illegal mining activities, Samba Police have seized seven vehicles, including four dumpers, used for the unlawful transportation of construction material. The seizures were made in the jurisdictions of Police Station Samba and Police Station Ramgarh. Acting on specific inputs and as part of regular patrolling, police teams led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Ramgarh and the Incharges of Police Posts Rakh Amb Talli and Mansar intercepted multiple vehicles suspected to be involved in illegal mining. The seized vehicles include: • Four dumpers bearing registration numbers: JK21E-9535, JK02DC-4809, HP73A-7023, and HP73A-6023. • Two tractor trolleys with registration numbers: JK21D-3815 and JK21H-7908. • One unregistered tractor trolley found operating without any legal documentation. These vehicles were found engaged in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of construction materials from the area, violating mining laws and causing environmental degradation. Following the seizure, all vehicles were handed over to the Geology and Mining Department, Samba for further legal proceedings and necessary action as per the relevant provisions of law. Samba Police reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in illegal mining and urged the public to report such activities to maintain ecological balance and legal compliance in the region.
