Kavinder accuses Mehbooba Mufti of echoing Pakistani propaganda
5/20/2025 10:12:45 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 20: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has strongly condemned the statement made by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti regarding Operation Sindoor. Terming her remarks as "irresponsible and anti-national," the BJP stalwart said that at a time when the entire nation and all major political parties are standing firmly behind the Central Government, Mehbooba Mufti is playing into the hands of Pakistan through her statements.
Reacting sharply, Kavinder Gupta said, "Behind all these statements, Mehbooba's intention seems to be only to support Pakistan. She probably believes that India should not have carried out Operation Sindoor to eliminate terrorist threats emanating from across the border. This mindset is not only unfortunate but also dangerous."
He added, "When our brave soldiers carried out a successful mission to neutralize terrorists and safeguard our sovereignty, such statements by Mehbooba Mufti clearly reveal who is sympathizing with Pakistan and its terror machinery. Her comments are a direct insult to the sacrifice of our armed forces and to the families of those who laid down their lives for the country."
Speaking at the meeting held at Party Headquarters in Jammu, Kavinder further questioned Mehbooba's silence on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism that has claimed thousands of innocent lives in Jammu and Kashmir. "She did not raise her voice when Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee, or when school children and civilians were killed in terror attacks. But today, she has the audacity to question a well-executed counter-terror operation. This exposes her priorities and allegiances," he said.
The senior BJP leader urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to see through the "dangerous politics" being played by Mehbooba Mufti. "This is not dissent. This is betrayal. At a time when India is standing tall and united against terrorism, such statements are nothing but propaganda in favour of Pakistan."
Kavinder said that the people of India will never forgive or forget such anti-national utterances, and the nation stands united with its forces and leadership in the fight against terrorism.
