Vohra constitutes 13-member Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee

Jammu, Apr 22- The Governor, N. N. Vohra, in his capacity as Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, today constituted a 13-member Shri Amarnathji Yatra Advisory Committee-2009 with SL Bhat as its chairman and CEO Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, B. B. Vyas, as Member-Secretary.
The Committee has been constituted pursuant to the decision taken at the 16th meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board held in New Delhi on February 2, 2009.
The Committee will advise the Board on logistical and other arrangements required for the smooth conduct of the Yatra 2009.The Committee will also assist the Environmental Sub-Committee of the Board, chaired by Dr. Sunita Narain, in the formulation and implementation of the “Environment Protection Plan” for the Yatra 2009.
The Committee will meet at least twice in a year, before the commencement and after the completion of the Yatra.
The members of the Yatra Advisory Committee are: Abdul Kaliq Wangnoo, President, Travel Agents Society of Kashmir, Srinagar; A. K. Sidha, President, Martand Trust, Mattan, Anantnag; Inder Raina; Inderjeet Khajuria, President, All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association; Kuldeep Wahi, President, Jammu Hotels and Restaurants Association; Lateef Ahmad Bhat, President, Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Owners Association, Srinagar; Mohammed Jabbar Malik, Authorized Representative, Founders and Beneficiaries of Shri Amarnathji Holy Cave Association, Batakote, Pahalgam; Dr. Mubeen Shah, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Srinagar, Kashmir; Poshker Nath, President, Ganesh Mandal Sabha, Ganeshpora, Anantnag; Ram Sahai, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu; U. K. Jalali, Senior Advocate; Vijay Dhar, and Vinod Pandit, President All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee, Kashmir.
The senior representatives of the concerned State Government Departments/Agencies who shall attend the meetings of the Yatra Advisory Committee are: Masaud Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; Dr. B. Srinavasan, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir; Lal Chand, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir State Pollution Control Board, Abdul Hamid Wani, Labour Commissioner, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag; Abdul Majid Khanday, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director Tourism, Kashmir, S. M. Sahni, Director Tourism, Jammu; Abdul Rashid Parrey, Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority; and Javed Bakshi, Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority.
The first meeting of the Yatra Advisory Committee is scheduled to be held on May, 7 at Srinagar.
