Early Times Report

Ramgarh, May 22: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh, under the able leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, has initiated a comprehensive Admission and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 Awareness Drive for the upcoming academic session 2025–26.
This initiative aims to educate and guide recently passed 12th-grade students about the new educational framework introduced by NEP 2020 and the diverse academic programs available at the college.
As part of the campaign, college faculty members including Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Mr. Ashok Kumar, and Prof. Brahm Dutt visited several Higher Secondary Schools across the region.
These include HSS Ramgarh, HSS Nandpur, HSS Gho Brahmana, Ajanta HSS Gho, MIER HSS Koulpur, HSS Vijaypur, Minerva HSS Ramgarh, and The Path Seeker HSS Ramgarh. During these outreach visits, they engaged with students and educators, highlighting the significance of making informed academic choices and explaining the benefits of the NEP-aligned education system.
The awareness drive was warmly welcomed by school principals and teaching staff, who actively supported the effort to ensure its success.
Informative pamphlets detailing the college’s courses and NEP 2020 updates were distributed to students to facilitate better understanding.
GDC Ramgarh is currently accepting admissions for the 2025–26 session, primarily offering programs under the NEP-aligned Humanities stream.
Major subjects available include Education, Hindi, Political Science, and Sociology, alongside additional options such as Computer Application, Economics, English, Environmental Science (E.V.S), Dogri, Punjabi, and Statistics.
The college boasts state-of-the-art facilities to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience, including smart and air-conditioned classrooms, a computer lab, a well-stocked library, sports infrastructure, a browsing center, NSS, gymnasium, Wi-Fi connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and transport services. Furthermore, the institution offers honours courses in the fourth year and facilitates lateral entry for eligible polytechnic students directly into the second year (third semester) of study.
This awareness drive reinforces GDC Ramgarh’s commitment to empowering students with quality education aligned with modern academic policies and practices.
