Inter-Zonal District Level Sports Competitions begin in Jammu

JAMMU, May 23: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, kicked off the Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions for Cricket (U-14/17 boys) and Basketball (U-14/17 girls) today at Government Boys High School, Jammu Cantt. and MA Stadium Jammu respectively. The competitions witnessed vibrant participation from around 400 students representing various government and private schools across Jammu.
Simultaneously, the Volleyball (U-14 boys/girls) tournaments concluded today at MA Stadium. The competitions are being held under the patronage of Director General YSS J&K UT, Sh. Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS), and under the overall supervision of Deputy Director Central, Sh. Jetinder Mishra (JKAS) and Joint Director YSS, Sh. Ved Parkash (JKAS). Key administrative support is being provided by Accounts Officer Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma, DYSSO Jammu Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma, and ZPEOs including Sh. Ram Murti (Gandhi Nagar), Smt. Jatinder Kour (Satwari), and Smt. Harvinder Kour (Jammu).
Additional sporting events are concurrently being hosted at various venues including Garhi Ground Jourian, Bana Stadium, and Khel Gaon Nagrota.

Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Satwari by 67 runs.

The events are being conducted smoothly under the expertise of departmental sports officials including Bandana Sharma, Jasdev Singh, Jagan Deep Singh, Dinesh, Sandeepan Sharma, Vaneet Pangotra, Mosmi Verma, Amit Kalsi, Rajesh Bandral, Jagdish Singh, Amit Sharma, and others.
Results of ongoing events will be communicated in the coming days as the competitions continue to engage young talent across the district.
