| Omar felicitated on performing Umrah | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 23- The Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union, led by Nazir Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Mehdi and Mushtaq Hussain, felicitated Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on his arrival at Civil Secretariat today, after performing Umrah at Holy Makkah in Saudi Arabia. A large number of employees were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister thanked the employees for the warm affection extended to him. Ministers, Legislators, senior officers and large number of people also called on the Chief Minister and felicitated him on performing Umrah. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday arrived in Jammu after spending nearly a week in Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah. Omar had left for the Hoply city of Mecca on April 18. Earlier, the Chief Minister was warmly received by a large number of people at his residence at Jammu who had come to felicitate him on returning from the holy pilgrimage. A large number of National Conference workers, headed by the Provincial President, Jammu province, Rattan Lal Gupta, also felicitated Omar Abdullah. These included party legislators, ex-legislators, senior leaders, office bearers and members of Youth and the Women’s Wing. The people presented bouquets to the Chief Minister who thanked them for their love and felicitation. In his brief speech, the Chief Minister said that he had gone to the holy land to thank Almighty Allah for providing him the opportunity to serve his people and during his pilgrimage he prayed for the well being of the people of the State and return of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
