| JKVM observed 13 July as Black Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | JULY 13 The Jammu & Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) observed July 13, as black day here today. Speaking in the occasion Ex. Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Guptasaid that it was on this date about 75 years ago in 1931, when people of minority community especially Kashmiri Hindus were killed ruthlessly by then militants. He further said not only this, shops and houses of Hindus were looted and burnt. He said a person Abdul Qadir whose trial was conducted in Central Jail, Srinagar,was turn into communal violence by the minority people, and is celebrated as Shahidi –Diwas which it is not, he said . Gupta said in real sense in black day, when innocent and helpless Hindus were killed. Earlier, in his welcome address National Secretary of Vichar Manch H.L Bhat said since then minority people of the valley have faced lot of problems and hardships, and were treated as second class citizens of free India. Among others who also spoke on the occasion and through light in this day were JKVM Vice –President, R.L. Bhat, Haroy Nath Pandita and others.
