KCCC enters QFs of Tickoo-Drabu cricket

UDHAMPUR, April 23: With an impressive victory of 132 runs over Lions Cricket Club (LCC), Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) today made it into the quarterfinals stages of 3rd Tickoo-Drabu Memorial Cricket Tournament underway at MA Stadium, here.
Powered by a brilliant knock of 52 runs from Dheeraj Sharma, KCCC set a big target of 234 runs for six in 30 overs after winning the toss and decided to bat first. Later, LCC could not chase the total and bundled out for 101 runs in 24.3 overs.
Surinder and Shashi also played well with 32 and 36 runs in their respective accounts. Bandeep Singh (27) and Ashok (26) were other main contributors to the team’s total. From LCC, Minni claimed two wickets while Vicky, Bansi, Hardeep Singh and Bunty took one each.
Batting second, LCC could not face the bowling wrath of KCCC, especially the spell by Raman Dutta and bowled out for 101 runs in 24.5 overs. Pritpal Singh was main scorers who made 29 runs. Minni contributed 19 runs. Raman Dutta, who claimed three wickets giving away just nine runs in 4.3 overs, was most successful bowler from KCCC. Samiullah also bowled well and took three wickets for 17 runs in three overs.
For his superb innings of 52, Dheeraj Sharma was declared man of the match. Sanjay Raina and Rajesh Dhar were umpires in today’s match.
