| Reconsider fee structure or face action: Zahida Khan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 23- Taking strong note of the different set of complaints lodged by parents and social workers Director School Education, Jammu Zahida Parveen on Thursday directed private schools to reconsider their decision to hike academic fees beyond stipulated limit fixed by the state government. Addressing a joint meeting of parents’ representatives and Principals of the private schools affiliated to the state board of school education Director School Education took strong note of the complaints and warned different private school managements to reconsider their fee structure at the earliest and publish them in the local news papers before admitting fresh students in new classes. It may be mentioned that in the last couple of days several social organizations and activists were raising the issue of exorbitant fees charged by the private schools in the garb of admission fees and other expenditure bypassing clear cut guidelines of the JK state board of school education. Without naming any particular school management director school education made it clear in minimum possible words that if any of the private school managements were found indulging in charging exorbitant fees from students, appropriate action would be taken against the defaulters. On the occasion Principals of several private schools highlighted their concerns and appraised the Directorwith routine difficulties.
