JKAACL, NDS hold Dogri Sangeet Sandhya

JAMMU, May 31: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha ( Regd.) Jammu organised a Dogri Music Programme based on Dogri Songs for inmates of "Virdh Ashram" at Ambphalla Jammu. The programme was presided over by I.D. Soni eminent Educationist and presently President of Old Age Home Ambphalla whereas, Madam Harvinder Kaur, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Prof Anupama Sharma Patron NDS, Capt .Lalit Sharma IFS, APCCF (Retd.) Convener NDS and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila President NDS also shared the dias besides Rita Kharial Editor Shiraza Dogri Section (JKAACL). Madam Harvinder Kaur was felicitated by NDS and Vrid Ashram on the occasion where as Dr. Saryansh Kumar Jain Yoga Commissioner recited a poem on the personality and works of Madam Harvinder Kaur, Secretary JKAACL .
Yash Pal Yash General Secretary NDS compered the proceedings. Eminent singers Parvinder Singh Apple, Raman Singh Slathia, Supriya Sharma, Marina Jamwal, Dogra sisters, Chanchal and Veena Dogra, Shyam Manyal performed on the occasion. Singers were assisted by Vijay Anand on Dholak, Joginder Pal on Tabla and Krishan Kumar Johnny on synthesizer, who were at their best.
I.D.Soni in his address lauded the role of Secretary JKAACL for furthering the cause of Art, Culture and Languages in general and reaching to the Inmates of the Ashram In particular. He said that this venture is testimony to the fact that government has sincere concerns for the senior citizens.
Harvinder Kaur Secretary JKAACL in her address saught the blessings of inmates. She observed that senior citizens are power house of rich experience and our youth can immensely get benefitted from their expeences and emphasized upon an durable mechanism to establish a regular interaction between youth and the senior citizens . She assured that when ever Academy receives a call from Vridh Ashram, it shall always be responded. Capt .Lalit Sharma in his concluding address while thanking the participants said that it is the collective duty of the society to address and honour the feelings, aspirations and sentiments of senior citizens especially, the youngesters shall have to learn respecting and serving them in consonance with our age old traditions. Narinder Singh Chib eminent Dogri Writer, Prof.Padam Dev Singh of Dogri Department Jammu University, Dr Dinesh Gupta General Secretary Vridh Ashram Wing Commander Nirmal Pilot Sat Pal Sharma Executive Body Member of Vridh Ashram , Bashir Ahmad, Varinder Mishra Vinod Sharma and R.C. aid were also present along with Ashram Inmates in large number . Smt Toshi Devi in her eighties an inmate also presented a "Mata di Bheint" and the recital was joined by the participants.
