Early Times Report JAMMU, May 31: Model Academy, under the aegis of CBSE, successfully conducted a vibrant seven-day Bhartiya Bhasha Camp from May 23 to 30, aimed at fostering appreciation for India's linguistic and cultural heritage. The initiative, aligned with the national vision of promoting multilingualism, saw enthusiastic participation from students of Classes III to XII. The camp featured a blend of educational, creative, and cultural activities that helped students explore India's diverse languages in a joyful and experiential way. The event commenced with a welcome song on Day 1, followed by an introduction to alphabets and numbers in various Indian languages. Day 2 included a flashcard activity to build visual word associations, and a slogan writing competition where students conveyed the spirit of Unity in Diversity. On Day 3, students designed a multilingual food menu featuring regional dishes, connecting language with cuisine. Day 4 was marked by patriotic performances, including a Dogri patriotic song, dances, and multilingual songs. The day was made memorable by the active involvement of parents, reinforcing the role of families in reviving, and promoting mother tongues. Day 5 featured a regional cuisine activity and a "Guess the Aroma" sensory challenge, followed by an inspirational movie screening that highlighted moral values. Day 6 encouraged students to depict linguistic diversity through art and poster-making, along with atlas games that linked geography to language learning. The grand finale on Day 7 showcased students' creativity through freedom fighter-themed mask-making, a multilingual fashion show, and a tobacco awareness presentation delivered using slogans in multiple Indian languages. The camp concluded on a high note, earning appreciation from all stakeholders. Students, teachers, and parents lauded the initiative for instilling cultural pride and linguistic awareness. Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson, said, "The Bhasha Camp was celebrated as a symbol of India's soul, where language was embraced as identity." Dr. Adit Gupta, Director, added, "A meaningful step was taken to connect youth with their roots and preserve linguistic heritage." Rupa Gupta, Joint Director, stated, "Confidence was instilled in students to use their mother tongues alongside global languages."
