Nagrota, June 3: Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra Additional General Secretary and former minister JKNC, Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), along with senior party colleagues, today visited the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple at Nagrota and paid obeisance to Goddess Ragnya Devi, the presiding deity of Kashmiri Pandits, on the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami.
Both the senior leaders offered prayers at the holy shrine and prayed for lasting peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. They extended heartfelt greetings to the Kashmiri Pandit community on this sacred occasion and appreciated their unwavering faith and resilience.
During their visit, the senior NC leaders interacted with members of the Kashmiri Pandit community who had gathered to mark the festival. They acknowledged their immense contribution to the cultural and spiritual heritage of Jammu and Kashmir and assured them of the party’s continued support.
Both the leaders also fervently prayed for the safe, honourable, and dignified return of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland in the Valley, stating that their return is essential for the restoration of Kashmir’s pluralistic ethos.
They reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, remains fully committed to ensuring justice, safety, and rehabilitation of the displaced community. They said the party envisions a peaceful Jammu and Kashmir where all communities live in harmony and dignity.
“The path to lasting peace lies in inclusive governance and the restoration of the rights and dignity of all communities. Our commitment is unwavering, and our resolve is strong,” they affirmed.
Prominent NC leaders accompanying him included: Bimla Luthra former MLA, Pardeep Bali, Ayub Malik, Laxmi Datta, Satwant Kour Dogra, Abdul Gani Teli, Raghbir Singh Manhas, Naresh Bittu, Vikram Puri, Jatin Bhat, Ashok Koul, Ashwani Charak, Rakesh Phalwan, Jatinder Bhagat, S. Jatinder Singh Lucky, Sardar Gimmy, Sewak Singh and other party functionaries.
