JAMMU, June 3: Wattal expresses gratitude to LG Sinha, CM Omar Administration especially concerned DCs and Div Com Kashmir for best arrangements, CAPFs, J&K Police and local administration on successful completion of the Kheer Bhawani Mela
Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela Welfare Society convener Kiran Wattal today hailed the congregation of devotees at the Mela Kheer Bhawani in Kashmir in the wake of the Pahalgam attack as a symbol of resilience on successful conclusion of Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela.
Wattal expressed satisfaction over successful conclusion of annual Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela with great fervor and enthusiasm by Kashmiri Pandits and locals of the Kashmir valley.Wattal expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha, CM Omar Administration especially concerned DCs and Div Com Kashmir for best arrangements CAPFs, J&K Police and local administration on the successful completion of the Kheer Bhawani Mela. Wattal said more than 35000 devotees visited holy shrine in four days mela starting from 31st May 2025 to June 3 2025 wherein Samiti managed meals tea snacks and lodging arrangements. The society expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, including security, sanitation, and healthcare, and the positive atmosphere created by the event.
Wattal said amid tight security arrangements, hundreds of people, mostly Kashmiri Pandits, left for the Valley in a convoy of 60 buses early Sunday from Jammu to take part in the annual fair in Ganderbal district. The mela is a significant religious event for Kashmiri Pandits and a symbol of communal harmony, showcasing the strong bond between Hindu and Muslim communities in Kashmir.
Wattal hailed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha who visited the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal, on Tuesday and paid obeisance at the temple and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, happiness, and the well-being of all citizens. During his visit, LG Sinha interacted with devotees and extended his warm greetings, acknowledging the spiritual significance of the day for the Kashmiri Pandit community and others, who gathered at the temple. Society on the occasion also felicitated and honoured LG Sinha for ensuring smooth conduct of yatra.
Wattal said nearly 35000 devotees thronged the shrine to mark the annual celebration, which holds deep cultural and religious importance in Jammu and Kashmir. Reaffirming the cultural and spiritual significance of the Mela Kheer Bhawani, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wattal said that the centuries-old festival is an embodiment of India's civilisational heritage and would continue to be celebrated for generations to come, despite attempts by terrorists to create fear.
