| Chhalan against JU employee for tampering marks cards | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24- Vigilance Organization Jammu today presented challan against one Ram Kangotra then Head Assistant Professional Evaluation Engineering Unit, University of Jammu for his alleged involvement for tempering the record and thereby enhancing the marks actually obtained by students of the Engineering colleges of Jammu. According to the challan on the complaint of Registrar University Jammu endorsed by SVO dated February 2, 2006, in pursuance to a complaint regarding variation made in award of the students appearing in different semesters of the engineering examination held in February 2005, the Vice Chancellor got fact finding enquiry conducted through Prof LK Verma Controller of Examination and two other officers of the University, a scrutiny of records by the team revealed that there were cuttings on the marks cards and marks file which were not in conformity with marks mentioned in the evaluated scripts. The marks of some of the students were found wrongly enhanced constituting offence punishable u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 BK and 120-B RPC and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu against accused Ram Kangotra then Head Assistant Professional Evaluation Engineering Unit, University of Jammu.
