| Govt PG College Bhaderwah celebrates World Environment Day | | |

Jammu, June 6: Department of Zoology in collaboration with NSS unit Govt.PG college Bhaderwah organised a special lecture on the occassion of World Environment Day 2025 aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability within the campus community and beyond.
The event was organised under the patronage of principal Prof. Shakeel Ahmed Khanday and headship of Dr.Ajaz Ahmed Wani IQAC coordinator and Prof.Mohd.yaseen Sirwal NSS unit inharge . Programme begain with welcome adress by Dr. Wani who emphised that in this technological World we have the oppertunities to explore the innovative solutions ,harness technology and engage communities in restoration efforts that promote sustainability.
He also stressed for justice,equaity and sustainability in environmental action.
Dr.Harish Chander Dutt, Professor Department of Botany University of Jammu was the resource person of the day.Dr.Dutt in his lecture focused on the theme i .e "putting an end to plastic pollution".
He discussed the need of hour is to global awareness about the damaging effects of plastic waste on ecosystems which causes great damage to mankind directly and indirectly and to take collective action to safeguard the planet for future generations.
The programme was attended by faculty and students of the college.
Prof Zain ul Abdeen Banday HOD Political science coordinate the event and also presented vote of thanks.
