Dogra Educational Trust, Rotary Club Jammu City holds awareness seminar

Samba, June 6: IQAC Cell of Dogra Law College, Dogra Degree College and Dogra College of Education under the aegis of Dogra Educational Trust, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Jammu City, organized an Awareness Seminar on Organ and Tissue Donation on 6th June 2025.
The seminar aimed to educate college students about the importance of organ and tissue donation.
The seminar was presided over by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman Dogra Educational Trust and President of Dogra Sadar Sabha and former Minister who is widely recognized as a philanthropist and committed social worker. In his Presidential Address, he appreciated the initiative and reiterated the Dogra Educational Trust’s long-standing dedication to social welfare, not only through education but also through meaningful community outreach. He emphasized that the Dogra Educational Trust has been established to honour the legacy of brave and valiant heroes, those who have selflessly contributed to the nation and to society at large.
He encouraged students to step forward as responsible citizens and advocates for humanitarian causes like organ donation, which holds the power to give life and hope to others.
He appreciated the Contributions and Efforts of Rotary Club of Jammu City and its members for their active collaboration and consistent commitment to community welfare and assured them full cooperation in such endevours.
At the outset, Ms. Shivangi Gupta, President of Rotary Club, Jammu, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dogra Educational Trust for hosting the awareness seminar. She also shared her vision of collaborating with the Trust on various noble initiatives aimed at the welfare of society.
The event began with a Welcome Address by Dr. Bela Thakur, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges and Principal, Dogra Degree College, who emphasized the need to create awareness among students and the larger community.
She welcomed all the dignitaries and stressed the importance of promoting the life-saving impact of organ donation.
The seminar featured a keynote presentation by Ms. Anshu Sharma, Consultant (IEC Media), SOTTO J&K, who delivered a detailed and insightful talk on the process, significance, and ethical dimensions of organ and tissue donation.
Her presentation demystified the process of organ and tissue donation. With clarity and conviction, she illuminated the ethical, medical, and societal dimensions of the subject, leaving the audience both informed and inspired. Her address motivated the audience to contribute to this humanitarian cause.
